World Swift Day – June 7

World Swift Day (WSD) is a global celebration of the Swift – this most fascinating & mysterious of birds whose very survival is threatened.

World Swift Day (an initiative of Swifts Without Frontiers) gives everyone the chance to collaborate & celebrate these amazing yet little
understood birds.

We are inviting friends of the 96 species of Swifts found worldwide to participate in talks, walks, themed parties and other activities that contribute to a better understanding, appreciation & protection of these fabulous birds.

The first edition, in 2019, was celebrated in 39 countries around the globe, with 110 “physical” events and hundreds of publications (both in the “traditional” and in social media), generating thousands of enthusiastic reactions. A dozen species were more specifically addressed. Following this success, WSD will go on in 2020. “See” you on June 7!
